Drafting Resource Coordinator

The Drafting Resource Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the resources needed to create project drawings. This position will also work with the stakeholders to assist in the development of drafting standards and the creation of the processes needed to document, distribute, and enforce standards  This is a key position to help us succeed and grow our business.

Location: Issaquah | Seattle Area or Portland OR

Qualifications

To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate the following skills and traits:

  • 5+ years providing drafting support using Computer-aided Drafting (AutoCAD).

  • 2+ years technical know-how of system design for audio/visual, broadcast, live event industries, or similar.

  • Familiarity with signal flow diagrams, block diagrams, and one-lines.

  • Must have good computer skills i.e. MS office suite, databases, and pdf creation.

  • Ability to read and understand both schematics and architectural prints.

  • Good communicator, articulate, and detailed.

  • Willingness to learn and take direction on company standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

Duties cover all aspects of planning and managing projects from award to completion. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing guidance to drafting subcontractors including educating drafting subcontractors on Standards to maximize productivity and deliver professional integrity.

  • Setting goals, expectations, and priorities daily for subcontractors to ensure milestones are met.

  • Supporting quality control to ensure adherence to Standards.

  • Administering the production flow of the drawing lifecycle by coordinating with PMs, Engineers, Designers, and Drafters to ensure successful completion of projects.

  • Maintaining project drawings by managing drawings repositories and ensuring all relevant drawing files are organized, accessible, and backed-up.

  • Maintaining the production tracking system.

  • Organizing a collection of frequently used details and blocks for use in future designs.

  • Preserving best practices by updating existing CAD standards as directed and proposing new standards to stakeholders.

  • Assisting with guidance, resources, and training to team members on relevant new tools, features, and program changes.

  • Making recommendations on innovations and identify improvements in process and efficiency.
